A few years ago, the German Muscular Diseases Association created a unique concept for people with muscular disease. It set up two disability-adapted, wheelchair-accessible pilot apartments to allow people with physical disabilities, their families and carers to not only view different aids and special structural solutions on furniture and sanitary facilities, but also try them out under everyday conditions. The HAUTAU PRIMAT kompakt 195 electric fanlight opener now also forms part of the fixtures and fittings in the apartments. It further enhances the apartments’ adapted design and assists independent living.
Freiburg/Helpsen, Germany People with neuromuscular diseases in particular can use these prototype apartments in Germany’s Breisgau region for a stay of several days to become familiar with useful solutions and try them out during everyday use. The association’s offer to try out an apartment equipped with modern technology which makes life easier for people with physical disabilities has met with a positive response. Adapted design is seen as an on-going process here: experience and a wealth of ideas from guests provide a key source of inspiration for continuous adaptation and optimisation of the apartments’ aids and furnishings. You will find more information about the facility here at www.dgm.org/angebote-dgm/beratung-unterstuetzung/barrierefreie-wohnloesungen-testen (in German).
After receiving an enquiry from the association, HAUTAU GmbH decide to provide its PRIMAT kompakt 195 fanlight opener free of charge as part of the latest refurbishment. Particularly suitable for noise-sensitive areas, the electromotive drive opens and closes fanlights in a whisper-quiet motion. Its effective power capacity despite small dimensions and its whisper-quiet, sleek presence make it a pleasing additional component. With its ultra-slim profile, it was effortlessly installed on the new PVC window and the existing wooden windows in the sleeping area. It is suitable for all types of window materials.
The hardware system can be controlled in different ways. Button operation and confirmation via infrared or radio remote control ensure even greater convenience. Smartphones and tablets are transformed into a central control panel when combined with the HAUTAU WLAN box. The hardware system can also be integrated into complex house control and automation systems such as Mediola via the HAUTAU WLAN box to provide even greater flexibility.
Mobility is not a given for everyone. Using windows and patio doors can be difficult for people with physical disabilities. Electric windows are the first choice for an adapted home and, obviously, also for those who seek a modern living style. HAUTAU offers a wide range of individual hardware solutions for greater independence in coping with everyday life. The specialist in lift and slide fittings and window automation provides fresh air without any hindrance thanks to innovative drive technology.
