Helpsen, 23 April 2026 – Eleven school pupils gained an exciting insight into the world of work at this year’s Future Day event at HAUTAU GmbH in Helpsen. The participants, most of whom were the children of employees, took the opportunity to get to know the company – which operates in the hardware industry – and various career fields at first hand.
The day began with a warm welcome, followed by a safety briefing to teach the young guests how to behave responsibly in the workplace. In a subsequent company presentation, the pupils were given an overview of the company’s areas of activity and its history. They also learnt about HAUTAU’s innovative solutions and gained an initial insight into how these are used in practice.
A particular highlight was meeting the management in person; they took the time to answer questions and provide insights into their day-to-day work. Speaking to the pupils, Jörg Herrmann, Technical Director, explained: “We’d like to get you excited about our company and our products.” And Frank Jedamski, Commercial Managing Director, looked to the future: “Perhaps we’ll see some of you again later as apprentices or students. We’d be delighted.”
The young people also had the chance to get hands-on. In the training workshop, they punched their own shopping chip and, as a memento of the day, used a laser to design a bottle opener featuring their initials.
A comprehensive tour of both sites in Helpsen then took the group through various departments, showcasing the diversity of the working environment at HAUTAU. During lunch together, there was also plenty of time for discussion and conversation.
At the end of a successful day, the participants were bid farewell with many new impressions and perhaps even some initial ideas for their future careers. The Future Day demonstrated once again how important it is for HAUTAU to show young people the possibilities and inspire them to make the right career choice. Through its modern in-company training programme, HAUTAU makes an important contribution to the qualification and development of young talent in the region. In doing so, the hardware manufacturer is placing greater emphasis on nurturing its own young talent. The company, which is part of the Austrian MACO Group, offers a total of seven apprenticeship programmes and three work-integrated degree courses in both technical and commercial fields, thereby opening up a wide range of opportunities for entering the world of work.
“Our aim is to offer highly qualified and team-oriented training with the best possible support. We regard this as an important investment in our future. We train staff to meet our own operational needs so that we can continue to employ skilled and motivated employees in the future,” says Florian Göbel, Head of Technical Training at HAUTAU.
