Onboarding for new trainees

HAUTAU welcomes its new recruits

Reinforcements for the HAUTAU team: on 1 August 2025, three young people took their first steps into working life. They are completing an apprenticeship at HAUTAU in Helpsen, Lower Saxony. Over the coming years, Jason-Joel Teuber will train as an IT specialist, Philipp Marahrens as a machine and plant operator, and Elias Dzillum as a tool mechanic. The career starters can look forward to a varied and thorough apprenticeship.

HAUTAU makes an important contribution to the qualification of young people in the region through its modern in-company training programme. The fittings manufacturer is increasingly focusing on its own young talent. The company, which belongs to the Austrian MACO Group, provides training in both the industrial-technical and commercial fields.

‘Our goal is to offer highly qualified and team-oriented training with the best possible support. We see this as an important investment in our future. We train for our own operational needs so that we can continue to employ skilled and motivated employees in the future,’ says Florian Göbel, Head of Technical Training at HAUTAU.

Jörg Herrmann, Technical Director, adds: "We are delighted to accompany the trainees as they take their first steps on their career path. Training with us lays the foundation for a promising professional career. After the final examination, there are often good future prospects and career paths within our company. And, of course, young people can and should contribute their own ideas to the training programme – we are always open to hearing them!"

To ensure optimal integration, a comprehensive induction week helps new trainees get started in their professional lives. During this time, they get to know the various departments and areas during a tour of the company and receive important general information, e.g. about occupational health and safety measures. In addition, the older trainees are always on hand to offer advice and support.

‘We want our trainees to feel part of the team from the very first minute. They need to feel welcome and taken seriously in their company,’ Florian Göbel makes clear. ‘After all, they will be spending a lot of time at their workplace in the future. So it goes without saying that they need to feel comfortable and well looked after.’

Training at the two company locations in Helpsen is anything but conventional. At HAUTAU, trainees are always involved, right from the start and right in the thick of things. The next generation is immediately integrated into the team and gets to show what they can do early on. At the same time, it is important that young people maintain contact with trainees from other professions and across different years of training. HAUTAU promotes getting to know each other better and making a difference together with a wide variety of activities throughout the training period.

The young talents are regularly involved in training fairs, because who could be a better ambassador for training than the career starters themselves? By sharing their own first-hand experiences and impressions, the trainees authentically convey what training at HAUTAU is all about. They talk about their daily tasks, personal challenges and exciting projects they are involved in.

As part of a project last year, trainees created a video clip about nine training options and three practice-integrated degree programmes. In addition to communication and networking, creativity and collaboration were also required. ‘The result is an inspiring and authentic film that is intended to provide our future young professionals with guidance in their career choices,’ says Frank Jedamski, Commercial Director.

In just over three minutes, the clip shows the apprenticeships and dual study programmes available at HAUTAU. School and university internships can also be completed, of course. Whether you are a tinkerer, a numbers whizz or a creative mind, the hardware manufacturer offers a range of training courses for many different talents, all of which have one thing in common: interesting development opportunities, a good salary and the goal of working on high-quality, future-oriented hardware and window automation solutions. Of course, there are numerous additional benefits, such as the company health management programme with attractive offers to promote your own health, or the provision of free fruit and drinks.

Further information about training, practice-integrated courses and internships  can be found on the HAUTAU website at www.hautau.de/karriere or on the
HAUTAU Instagram profile hautau_karriere.
